Allure Beauty Box Review for April 2019

Starting in January 2019, Allure stopped sending the high quality, red boxes in favor of this outer shipping box and the vinyl bag you’ll see below.

All subscriptions typically include some type of mini magazine or at least a postcard with more information about the month’s theme as well as the products included. Well, Allure tends to collab with influencers and that is usually their theme. However, Boxy Charm and Ipsy tend to have themes that correspond to the month or season.

So this is the bag that they send every month instead of the box. It seems like I say this in every post, but I don’t need more than one of these bags. They’re cute and all, but every time I try to use them, I find that they aren’t very practical. Even though they are vinyl, they aren’t sealed so you can’t use them as a waterproof bag.

Vita Liberata Phenominal Organic Tan Infused Cloths

Full Size Price: $25
Full Size Amount: 8 pack

From the brand:

  • Organic tanning cloths
  • Can last up to 10 days
  • Formulated without parabens, harsh chemicals, perfume, fragrance, alcohol, animal derivatives, petrochemicals, sulphates, or silicones

My thoughts:

I don’t self tan, but these seem simple enough to use so I’ll save them for whenever the urge strikes.

Where to buy

Laura Geller Inkredible Waterproof Gel Eyeliner Pencil in Rose Gold

Full Size Price: $22

From the brand:

  • Waterproof gel eyeliner that provides a smooth application

My thoughts:

I really, really like this eyeliner. I love the color and how it feels when I put it on. Sometimes, I’ll use it as an eyeshadow base when I apply colors that are a little bit darker. This formula is pigmented and was really easy to use. However, I didn’t find this color on the website.

There is a sharpener that you can pull out from the bottom of them pencil, which I think is awesome. Applying any type of pencil is so much easier when the tip is sharpened.

Where to buy

Luxie 231 Small Tapered Blending Brush Rose Gold

Full Size Price: $12

From the brand:

  • Synthetic bristles

My thoughts:

Yep, I love this like I love most other Luxie brushes. It is smaller so it won’t overly diffuse your blend.

Where to buy

Natasha Denona Mono Eyeshadow in 126K Aubade

Full Size Price: $129
Full Size Amount: 15 shadow palette

From the brand:

  • Eyeshadow with the classic Natasha Denona quality
  • Paraben-free
  • Cruelty-free
  • Made in Italy

My thoughts:

This eyeshadow, Aubade, is a single pan from the larger Sunset Palette. It is a pretty, golden Chroma Crystal that has tons of pigment. I really enjoy using this eyeshadow, but her palettes are super-expensive, but definitely worth it if you want eyeshadows that simply work with little fuss.

Where to buy

Anastasia Beverly Hills Liquid Lipstick in Pure Hollywood

Full Size Price: $20
Full Size Amount: 3.2 g / 0.11 oz

From the brand:

  • Full pigment liquid lipstick formula that dries down matte
  • Double-sided flat applicator
  • Available in 45 shades

My thoughts:

First of all, I hate matte liquid lips. Second, this nude is way too light for me and I have a medium skin-tone. So unless you like a pale lip, this nude won’t work on very many people’s skin. I’m sad that this liquid lip had 2 strikes against it before I even pulled it out of the box.

Where to buy

Briogeo Farewell Frizz Blow Dry Perfection & Heat Protectant Creme

Full Size Price: $24
Full Size Amount: 4 oz / 118 ml

From the brand:

  • For frizzy, dry hair
  • Winner of the 2019 Allure Reader’s Choice Award for Best Defrizzer
  • Vegan and cruelty-free
  • No harsh sulfates, silicones, phthalates, parabens, DEA, or artificial dyes
  • Thermal heat protectant up to 450 degrees F

My thoughts:

I really like all of the Briogeo products I’ve tried so far, including this one. I did notice less frizz until day 3. But let’s be honest, by day 3, I need to wash my hair. The ingredients are awesome.

Allure Beauty Box Value

This has got to be one of my favorite months for the Allure Beauty box (referral link) because they delivered the goods on their curated selection of beauty products. Aside from the liquid lip and the tanning cloths, I really love what was included this month and still think the value is great.
